The people, [ grumps the introvert ] They say the same things over and over again, pointing out the same problems, having the same issues, whining the same annoying, trite complaints. If I could leave everyone here behind, I would.

Eugh. I noticed. Worse than a gaggle've hostesses.

[ He may have already said that to Caffrey directly during the great toilet debate. ]

They should find a hobby, [ he grumbles. ] I certainly have! I spend my time training.

[ Majima wheezes a soft laugh. ]

Ok. Ok, but say they let us off somewhere tomorrow? What do ya go off an' do?

[ He loves to fight, but there's a lot of other debauchery to get up to in pursuit of fights. ]

Find somewhere quiet, [ he answers with zero hesitation. ] There are too many damn people on this ship—you can barely get a moment to yourself. If they let us off somewhere tomorrow, I would spend time with my own thoughts.

[ and hallucinations. But mostly thoughts. ]

[ His laughter is easy, if melancholy. ]

Didn't always like it, but it was different crowds every night at th'cabaret. So damn quiet here. Makes my ears ring.

[ He truly needs to detox from being trapped in nightlife hell. Maybe, at some point, he can actually sit with his thoughts. Or he'll just count the days until the next exciting Barge disaster. ]

[ Dimitri lets out a small laugh. There's a momentary pause before, ]

Whereas I have spent years by myself. Whether in prison or on the run, I have been alone for a while.

[ Feralmitri sure looks like a guy who was in prison and on the run. ]

Need ya some stupid thug to be friends with, out on the road.

[ Feralmitri is FINE and NOT TRAUMATIZED and REGULARLY CUTS HIS HAIR, what could give Majima that impression???

There's a long pause before, ]

The closest person who I could call a friend was the one who helped me escape prison in the first place. I thought he was dead afterwards.

[ If Majima let himself, he could get upset. That should be him: risking everything to get his kyodai out of prison. It does strike him, a brief dizziness, but then he just nudges Dimitri with his elbow. ]

Was volunteerin'.

[ Because he is the stupidest thug around. ]

[ Oh.

Oh, well Dimitri doesn't really know how to respond to that. There's a brief look of confusion on his face before he smooths it to a neutral expression and gives Majima a small nod. ]

I don't think I'd mind that. As far as I'm concerned, we're friends already.

[ Majima meets all of his best friends by fighting them, so this is about on par. Are they all big taciturn dudes? Yes. It's weird to feel almost normal, it's been a long time.

There's a part of him that really pines for Saejima, but... he's here trying to earn some kind of right to go back to his kyodai with his head held high. He's not going to do that in a vacuum on the Barge. ]

That's th'spirit. So remember I'm hangin' around bored next time ya wanna go sit with yer thoughts.

[ Think of the poor, under-stimulated dogs of the world, Dima. 🙏 ]

[ There's a wry smile on Dimitri's face as he continues with, ]

In that case, I'm bored. Shall we fight?

[ Majima punches his shoulder in reply. ]

Bring it.

Here or shall we go to the gym?

[ Either works for Dimitri! ]

[no_kyouken]

[ He spreads his hands in a shrug, oh look what a harmless asshole he is, and then Dimitri can catch these hands. ]

And so Dimitri IMMEDIATELY goes to punch Majima, enjoying the hell out of this fight. ]
